ESPN College GameDay & ABC Sports Headed To Boise

Just minutes after Boise State's 51-6 victory at Wyoming, ESPN announced that it's College GameDay crew would be making its first visit to the state of Idaho, taking over the Boise State campus next Saturday in anticipation of the Boise State-Oregon State game.  Shortly following that, kick-off for the game itself was set for a prime time window at 6:00 pm MT (8:00 pm ET) on ABC.  The matchup between top 25 teams will be a full national broadcast as well, marking Boise State's first Saturday regular season football game shown nationally on ABC or any other broadcast network.
The Broncos currently reside at number three in both major national polls and sit at 2-0, with a win over Virginia Tech in Washington DC and a road win against Wyoming.  The Oregon State game will be Boise State's 2010 home opener.
Gates will open at 5:30am for fans and admission will be free.  Parking, however still needs to be worked out.

ESPN will begin taping and rehearsing segments at 6 a.m.

Gameday Live begins at 7 a.m. on ESPNU then moves over to ESPN beginning at 8 a.m.

Broncos Release Depth Chart For Virginia Tech Game

No major surprises today as the Boise State football team released it's depth chart for the Virginia Tech game except at running back. Doug Martin won the starting role at running back ahead of Jeremy Avery and D.J. Harper.  However, expect to see plenty of #27 and #6 when the Broncos take on Virginia Tech.

Quarterback is interesting; the coaching staff did not name a clear number 2.
A couple other positions that were being looked at were left tackle where some thought Charles Leno might get the starting nod. Over at corner back, Jamar Taylor beat out Jerrell Gavins in a close fight.  Both should see significant time on the field.

Here's how the depth chart looks with the starters in bold...

Boise State's athletic department has unveiled a website dedicated to Bronco Football.  There are a lot of neat features, videos, pictures and more!

New York Times Says Boise State Will Play Ohio State For Championship Game

First the New York Post, now the New York Times picks Boise State to play for the national championship. Here's the story.

The Times also has a pretty good story about the rise of Boise State and TCU.  The paper also lists QB Kellen Moore as one of it's 5 Heisman candidates (no surprise here).

The Orlando Sentinel picks Boise State number 2 in their preseason top 25.  Here's their write-up on the Broncos.

And Brian Murphy & Chadd Cripe list their great moments in Bronco History mixed with moments in U.S. history to coincide with the trip to our nation's capitol.
